This year I discovered another Halloween craft idea: Halloween pillows. I think they make awesome decoration, not just for Halloween.
I had a lot of ideas, looked at a lot of pictures on the web what great pillows others were making, but the first idea that made it into reality was the sleeping ghost pillow.
For many, many years, I’ve been in love with this adorable Door keeper Ghost pattern I found on a website called kidsaction.de. A paper cut-out of this pattern had adorned my doors on Halloween (and beyond) for a long time, until I now moved into a flat that does not have prominent enough door cases to rest it on.
So I thought: Why not turn this into a pillow? Continue reading
The end-of-October post would have come out so late that I decided it would make more sense to publish it together with the November post. I could have skipped October but since it is my favorite month of the year, creativitywise, due to the Halloween season, I felt I still wanted to include it.
Also, I don’t really have much to show and tell for November anyway. As was to be expected, preparing my academic writing course that I’ve been teaching since the end of October has consumed basically all my free time both in October and November. Continue reading
Halloween is almost here now! OMG, is it really the end of October already? As I was afraid would happen, preparing my course takes up most of my free time at the moment. So Halloween comes a little short this year. But that’s okay because the course is a lot of fun too.
Luckily, Halloween dinner plans have been made well in advance and now just have to be executed on the very day.
One thing I did take some time for (mainly very late in the evenings when I was totally exhausted and could do no more than relax on my couch with something nice on TV shortly before going to bed):
Fall is approaching with rapid strides, which tells us that Halloween is near! Time for a little creepiness…
Last year I discovered Halloween bookbinding but didn’t get around to actually making anything. That I want to change this year. For the Halloween booklet that I’m planning to make, I first had to make sure my paper looked all old and worn. It is a little time consuming but actually very easy to make.
For me, Halloween always seems to last longer than for other people because it takes me such a long time posting about the things I made on Halloween. But so what? I enjoy Halloween so much, I’m actually happy to have it around a little longer. 😉
Anyway, I already showed you the cool Chocolate Cream Cemetery that I made for a buffet shortly before the big day. Time to move on to the actual Halloween day dinner and the party decoration.
