The idea for those cute tartelettes comes from this webpage on Halloween party food. Since it has great ideas and pictures but no recipes or detailed instructions, I’m going to let you in on how I made them. 😉

For 6 tartelettes, you’ll need:

75g butter
75g sugar
some vanilla extract
2 eggs
a pinch of salt
150g flour
1 level teaspoon baking powder
about 2 tablespoons milk

Step #1: The Cake Base

Mix all the ingredients and fill the mixture into tartelette molds. Preheat oven to 180°C and bake for 10-15 minutes (depending on your oven).

Let them cool completely before taking the cakes out of the molds.

Step #2: The Peaches

I used canned, halved peaches. Since I quickly realized that the halves were too big to be fully covered with glaze later on, I decided to halve the halves 😉 — horizontally. You have to cut carefully to make sure that the lower half will not have a hole where the stone was. Try to cut almost directly above the hole so the top parts won’t be too small.

Step #3: Carving

Using a small kitchen knife, cut faces into the peaches—much as you would carve a pumpkin. 😉

Step 4: The Glaze

Prepare clear gelatin glaze and cover the cake. You can use a spoon to make sure not too much of the glaze spills.Let the cakes rest for a few hours until the glaze has solidified. Then they are ready to serve …
